Managing baselines: accept, ignore, undo & reset

What a baseline is

Two journeys compare each run against a stored reference — a baseline. Visual regression keeps an approved screenshot per page and device; structure drift keeps a fingerprint of the page's HTML structure. Every run diffs against that baseline, and only a difference is flagged for you.

No other journey uses baselines. Checks like checkout, uptime, or the vulnerability scan pass or fail on the spot, so there's nothing to accept or ignore — you fix the underlying issue and re-run.

Accept the change as the new baseline

When a flagged change is intended — a redesign, a new section, a copy change — accept it. On a failing visual cell click “Accept current as new baseline”; on a drifted structure page click “Accept as new baseline”. The current run becomes the reference, the finding is resolved, and future runs compare against the new version.

Accepting never hides future changes: it only moves the reference forward. Anything that changes after that is flagged again.

Ignore only specific sections

Sometimes a page legitimately changes in one spot every run — a rotating banner, a live counter, a timestamp. On a structure-drift page, “Ignore these sections” masks just those changed signatures; the rest of the page stays fully monitored and the page is not removed from the journey. On visual regression, “Ignore this change” masks the changed region the same way.

This is different from accepting: the baseline is unchanged, and only the noisy spot is skipped on future diffs.

Remove a page that can't be checked

If a page keeps erroring — an unresolvable URL, or a page that no longer exists — “Ignore this page” removes it from the journey so future runs skip it and it stops weighing on the result. This is the one action that actually removes a page. To bring it back, re-add it under the journey's Pages.

Undo a decision

Made a decision by mistake? Every accept and ignore can be reverted. Open the run and click “↩ Undo” next to the resolved page or cell: Relvato restores the previous baseline (or removes the one the decision created) and re-opens the finding, so the run goes back to failed and the review buttons return.

Undo is single-level — it reverts the last decision on that page or cell. It applies to decisions made from the point this feature shipped onward; for older decisions, use the reset below.

Reset a whole journey

To wipe every baseline and decision for a journey and start clean, remove the journey and add it again. This is a full reset: all baselines, ignore lists, and the run history for that journey are deleted, and the next run establishes fresh baselines. Use it when you want a clean slate rather than reverting a single decision — to undo one accept or ignore, prefer Undo.

Accept, ignore-sections, and undo apply to the two journeys that use baselines — visual regression and structure drift. Removing a page applies wherever a journey checks a set of pages. Resetting by remove-and-re-add applies to any journey.
